On April 28, 2025, State Police arrested Alexis J. Santiago, 34, of Nyack, for Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd degree, Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, Driving While Intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic violations.
On April 28, 2025, at approximately 6:10 p.m., State Police initiated a pursuit on a BMW traveling northbound on Interstate 87 near Exit 10 in the town of Orangetown.
The pursuit came to a stop due to heavy traffic and Troopers engaged with the driver, identified as Santiago, and his passenger.
While engaging with Santiago, an odor of alcohol was detected.
Santiago was arrested and transported to SP Tarrytown for processing.
Santiago was turned over to Westchester County Police Departments for warrants.
The Thruway was briefly shut down due to the incident and has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
