State Police arrest Northville man following a neighbor dispute
Press Release

On November 6, 2024, State Police of Fonda arrested Bryan R. Metheny, 40, of Northville, NY, for three counts of Menacing in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

On November 6, 2024, at about 9:50 p.m., a Trooper responded to a home in Northville, NY, for the reports of a disturbance involving a handgun. The investigation determined Metheny reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation with his neighbors and their guests due to one of the guests making excessive noise with their vehicle while leaving.  During the argument, Metheny allegedly displayed and threatened to shoot the victims with what appeared to be a handgun.

Metheny was taken into custody after a brief standoff when he initially refused to leave his home.  Further investigation discovered and seized a handgun-style airsoft gun from his home, believed to be the weapon displayed during the incident. Metheny was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Northampton Town Court on November 14, 2024, and released.
