On March 27, 2025, State Police of Schodack arrested Matthew D. Sowycz, 32, of Niverville, NY, for two counts of Burglary in the third degree, two counts of Identity Theft in the first degree, and two counts of Computer Trespass.
On March 26, 2025, at about 11:00 a.m. Troopers received a complaint from an East Greenbush, NY, Business reporting a past Burglary. The investigation determined that Sowycz allegedly entered the business without permission or authorization utilizing identification belonging to another employee on two separate occasions. While inside the business, he also reportedly accessed the company’s computers without authorization.
Sowycz was arrested at his home and transported to SP Schodack for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the East Greenbush Town Court on April 10, 2025, and released.
