State Police arrest Middleburgh man who recklessly discharged firearms

On October 11, 2024, State Police of Princetown arrested Jeremiah J. Gagne, 36, of Middleburgh, NY, for Reckless Endangerment in the first degree and six counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree.

On October 8, 2024, at about 3:09 a.m. Troopers responded to a home in Middleburgh, NY, for the reports of a possible trespass.  Gagne reportedly fired three rounds in unsafe directions from long guns in a reckless manner prior to State Police arriving.  No one was injured.  Further investigation revealed that Gagne was illegally in possession of six firearms as he had previous felony convictions. All firearms were seized.  

Gagne was arrested at his home without incident and transported to SP Cobleskill for processing. He was then transported to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
