State Police arrest Middleburgh man for Child Pornography and Drug possession

On June 14, 2024, State Police of Princetown, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, arrested Christian L. McCance, 23, of Middleburgh, NY, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.

McCance is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant on his home in Middleburgh, NY, on February 1, 2024. The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

McCance was arrested outside his home and transported to SP Cobleskill, where he was processed. When taken into custody, He was found to possess a controlled substance.  McCance was then transported to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
