On October 17, 2024, at about 1:09 a.m. Troopers responded to the reports of a past assault in Halfmoon, NY. He then left the home in a vehicle, and the victim contacted 911. Popp reportedly damaged the victim’s phone during the dispute and caused visible injuries that were evaluated by EMS.
At about 7:41 a.m. the same morning Popp was located driving a vehicle in the area of Brunswick Road in Troy, NY, where he was arrested. While being taken into custody on the charges related to the earlier dispute, Troopers observed signs of intoxication. Popp was transported back to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood.
Popp was arraigned at the Halfmoon Town Court on all charges and released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
