State Police arrest Greenfield contractor following scam investigation

On February 1, 2024, State Police of Saratoga arrested Michael T. Marlett, 21, of Greenfield, NY, for Grand Larceny in the third degree and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  

On January 25, 2024, at about 6:30 p.m., State Police of Saratoga received a complaint from a Saratoga County resident. The investigation determined the victim allegedly met with Marlett, the owner and operator of ATQ Contracting LLC., in December 2023. The victim agreed to hire Marlett to complete a remodeling project of a Ballston, NY, home and provided him more than $10,000 as a deposit.  Marlett reportedly failed to start the work per the contracted agreement and also failed to return the victim’s deposit, resulting in the theft of the money. 

 Marlett was arrested in Clifton Park, NY, and transported to SP Saratoga for processing. He was arraigned at the Malta Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
