On January 1, 2024, State Police arrested Heather L. Billingsley, 53, of Cairo, NY, for two counts of Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Petit Larceny.
On December 31, 2023, at about 10:32 a.m. Troopers responded to a home in Esperance, NY, for the report of a stolen vehicle. The investigation determined, Billingsley who is known to the victim, entered the victim’s vehicle without permission and fled the location. Further investigation determined Billingsley had also taken multiple firearms and cash from the home without the victim’s knowledge before fleeing in the stolen vehicle. Later that day, at about 2:09 p.m., the stolen vehicle was recovered unoccupied in Colonie, NY. The other stolen items were not recovered.
Billingsley was located in Troy, NY, and taken into custody. She was transported to SP Cobleskill for processing and then transported to the Schoharie County Correctional facility to await arraignment.
