State Police arrest Brooklyn man for felony drug possession following Moreau traffic stop

On August 27, 2024, State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit with the assistance of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Heriberto Ortiz, 48, of Brooklyn, NY, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third degree and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. 

On August 27, 2024, at about 1:17 p.m., Troopers Stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Moreau, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  The driver was identified as Ortiz.  Further investigation discovered felony-weight narcotics in the vehicle allegedly packaged in a manner for sale.

Ortiz was transported to SP Wilton for processing.  He was arraigned at the Moreau Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
