On September 29, 2024, State Police arrested Gabriel M. Houghton, 25, of Bolton Landing, NY, for two counts of Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the third degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the third degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, Driving While Intoxicated and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
On September 29, 2024, at about 2:58 a.m. Troopers responded to the area of Lake Shore Drive in Hague, NY, for the reports of a hit-and-run crash. The investigation determined Houghton reportedly struck the guide rail and continued driving. Troopers located the vehicle matching the caller's description disabled a short distance away, and Houghton was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Further investigation discovered unlawful amounts of cannabis and cannabis products, drug paraphernalia, and felony-weight narcotics within his vehicle.
Houghton was transported to SP Chestertown for processing, where he recorded a 0.14% BAC. He was then transported to the Warren County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
