State Police arrest Ballston man on multiple gun charges following road rage incident

On September 10, 2024, Aaron J. Delano, 25, of Ballston, NY, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, Reckless Endangerment in the second degree, and Menacing in the second degree.

On August 28, 2024, at about 3:05 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol received a complaint reporting that during a road rage incident, a handgun was displayed. The investigation determined Delano was involved in a road rage incident with the victim in the area of I-787 in Colonie, NY, during which he allegedly brandished and pointed a handgun at the victim.

During the course of the investigation, the handgun believed to be involved in the original crime was located in Delano’s vehicle and seized.  In addition, Delano was found to illegally possess multiple firearms and high-capacity magazines inside his Ballston, NY, home.

Delano was arrested at his home and transported to SP Latham, where he was processed on charges stemming from the road rage incident. He was arraigned at the Colonie Town Court and released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department. Delano was then transported to SP Saratoga and was processed for the additional charges. He was arraigned at the Malta Town Court and released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
