State Police arrest Albany man for possessing illegal handguns and felony weight narcotics

On December 8, 2023, State Police assigned to the Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) arrested Davon Sisnett, 36, of Albany, NY, for 

• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree, a class “A” felony
• four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a class “B” felony
• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree, a class “C” felony
• Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, a class “A” misdemeanor 

On December 29, 2023, Sisnett was arrested on a warrant for the additional charges of

• Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the first degree, a class “A” felony
• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree, a class “A” felony
• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a class “B” felony
• Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, a class “C” felony
• Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, a class “D” felony

In the Spring of 2023, State Police developed information that Sisnett was handling and selling illicit drugs. The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at his Albany, NY, residence on December 8, 2023. Multiple controlled substances, a large amount of U.S. currency, and drug paraphernalia were located and seized.  Sisnett was arrested at the scene.

Sisnett was transported to SP Latham for processing. He was arraigned at the Albany City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility. 

Further investigation discovered a storage unit being utilized by Sisnett located in Rensselaer, NY. A search warrant was executed on the unit, and Investigators discovered additional controlled substances and two illegally possessed, loaded handguns, all of which were seized. Both guns contained an illegal high-capacity magazine. An arrest warrant related to the items found in the storage unit was issued on December 26, 2023, by the Rensselaer County Court. 

Sisnett was located at his Albany, NY home on December 29, 2023, with the assistance of the United States Marshal Service and was taken into custody. He was transported to SP Latham for processing and then transported to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
