State Police arrest Albany man following a pursuit investigation

On October 19, 2023, State Police of Schodack arrested Daniel Hammon, 36, of Albany, NY, on a warrant for two counts of Reckless Endangerment in the first degree, Criminal Mischief in the second degree and attempted Assault in the second degree.

On July 25, 2023, at about 4:17 p.m., State Police responded to assist the Albany County Sheriff’s office with a pursuit on I-90 in East Greenbush, NY. During the incident, Hammon reportedly drove the wrong way on I-90 and intentionally struck a marked law enforcement vehicle involved in the pursuit, causing more than $10,000 worth of damages. No one was injured in the crash.  Hammon was eventually taken into custody by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office in the city of Albany, NY.  

Hammon was produced from the Albany County Correctional Facility, where he was still being held on additional charges related to this incident. He was processed at SP Schodack, arraigned at the East Greenbush Town Court, and returned to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
