On October 26, 2023, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Troopers out of SP Buffalo responded to a shooting on I-190 in the city of Buffalo. Preliminary investigation determined that a city of Buffalo Sewer Authority vehicle with three occupants were traveling south bound on the I-190 just south of exit 9. The suspect vehicle, a late model dark colored Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south bound on the I-190. While traveling south bound the suspect shot the victims vehicle multiple times. This resulted in one fatality and two victims being transported to Erie County Medical Center.
Victims in this incident, driver Myron L. Walker, 30 of Buffalo, NY, injured from gunshot wounds, backseat passenger Lamar T. Whitfield Jr., 23 of Buffalo, NY, injured from gunshot wounds and front passenger Keyshawn N. Gault, 22 of Buffalo, NY, deceased at the scene.
Update: The stolen 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been recovered by the New York State Police and has been processed for potential evidence. We continue to ask the public for any information about the stolen vehicle or its occupants, including dash cam footage, to contact us at 585-344-6200.
The NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Forensic Identification Unit, Buffalo Police Department, the Erie Crime Analysis Center and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office are assisting in this investigation.
More information will be released as the investigation continues.
