

On Tuesday, May 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., New York State Police and the Susquehanna SPCA will hold a joint press conference regarding arrests made in a case of animal neglect in Chenango County.
On April 26, 2024, over two dozen animals were located deceased and an additional 107 neglected animals were removed from a farm on Clark Lane and Pig Farm Lane in New Berlin. The animals included horses, swine, cattle, sheep, goats, a llama, dogs and cats.
The press conference will begin at 10:30 a.m., and will be held at the Susquehanna SPCA in located at 5082-5088 State Highway 28 in Cooperstown.
The Chenango County District Attorney’s New York State Environmental Conservation, New York State Forest Rangers, New Berlin Police, Chenango County and Susquehanna SPCA as well as the Office of Emergency Management served a search warrant at properties located on Clark Lane and Pig Farm Lane in the town of New Berlin.
