Poughkeepsie Man Arrested for Criminal Possession of a Gun

Poughkeepsie, New York – On November 22, 2023, the New York State Police in conjunction with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department arrested Jakai M. Rivera, age 24, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2^nd degree, a class C felony.

While executing a warrant issued by the town of Poughkeepsie Court, Investigators found Jakai Rivera was in illegal possession of a loaded Glock model 21C handgun.

Rivera was arraigned before the town of Lagrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond.  Rivera is next scheduled to appear before the town of Poughkeepsie Court on November 28, 2023, at 4:30 p.m.
