Owner Alerts Troopers To Fraud By Employee
PRESS RELEASE

On September 20, 2024, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested an employee of the Publick House Restaurant and Bar in Pleasant Valley after being notified by the owner of possible fraud and theft.

Investigation determined Melissa Dinsmore, age 33, of Wappinger, NY, while working as both a server and bartender, was fraudulently increasing tip amounts entered by her customers who utilized credit cards in order to increase her pay.

Dinsmore was arrested for Scheme To Defraud in the 1st degree, and Falsify Business Records in the 1st degree, both class E felonies.  She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Pleasant Valley Court on October 22, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.
