New York State Police Acting Superintendent Dominick L. Chiumento is saddened to announce the line of duty death of retired Technical Sergeant Christopher P. Rock.
On December 3, 2023, Technical Sergeant Rock passed away from an illness stemming from his assignment at the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
Following the events of 9/11, Technical Sergeant Rock was assigned to New York City to aid in the search and recovery efforts.
Technical Sergeant Rock, 59, entered the State Police on March 30, 1987, and served with the State Police for 26 years. He was last assigned to Field Command, Division Traffic, and retired on September 27, 2013.
Technical Sergeant Rock is from Kerhonkson, NY, and is survived by his wife.
