New Jersey Man Arrested For Felony Drug Possession

On December 3, 2024, the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit arrested a New Jersey man for felony possession of heroin and crack on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of East Fishkill.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Cadillac CTS for violations of the vehicle and traffic law on the Taconic State Parkway.  Investigation determined the operator, Atreyu Z. Kennedy, age 33, of Newark, NJ, was in illegal possession of approximately 18 grams of crack-cocaine, and 4.4 grams of heroin.

Kennedy was subsequently arrested for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3^rd degree, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4^th degree, a class C felony.

He was arraigned before the town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail and a return date of December 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
