On December 25, 2025 at approximately 6:24 am, New York State Police responded to the Northern State Parkway eastbound, just east of Exit 41 (Wolf Hill Road) in the town of Huntington, Suffolk County for a report of a one vehicle fatal motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival Troopers located the operator, Osmond Duarte age 21, deceased in the roadway. Investigation determined Duarte was operating a 2011 Hino commercial flatbed truck at an unsafe speed, when he lost control of the vehicle, struck the center median and overturned. Duarte was subsequently ejected from the vehicle.
