Man Arrested in Middletown for Posing as Union Representative and Defrauding Victims

On April 4, 2025, the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Middletown announced the arrest of Armando J. Alarcon, 57, of Middletown, NY, following a months-long investigation. Alarcon has been charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, a Class E Felony, and Scheme to Defraud in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.


Alarcon was arrested after reports indicated that he had posed as a representative of the Ironworkers Local 580 Union. He informed individuals that he could facilitate their membership into the union for a fee. After receiving payment, Alarcon would provide victims with a projected start date but would cease communication shortly thereafter.

On April 4, 2025, Alarcon was located and taken into custody. Alarcon was issued an Appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wallkill Court on April 16, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
