Update: Robert K. Trago Jr. was arraigned September 5, 2024 and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $100,000 cash/$200,00 credit/$400,000 bond.
Update: On September 4, 2024, at approximately 8:08 a.m., New York State Police and Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2800 block of State Highway 268 in the town of Hancock for a report of a shooting. A 32-year-old man was shot in the upper arm and airlifted to Albany Medical Center. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
As a result of an investigation Robert K. Trago Jr., age 60 of Hancock, NY has been charged with the class “A-I” felony of attempted Murder in the second degree and the class “D” felony of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree.
Trago Jr. was located just before 3:00 p.m., in the Margaretville area and taken into custody. Trago Jr. was transported to SP Binghamton where he was processed then taken to the Delaware County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.
The New York State Police was also assisted on scene by Broome County Sheriff’s Department, Hancock Ambulance, Hancock Fire, AMR/Delaware County Ambulance.
Update: New York State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m., in the 2800 block of State Highway 28 in the town of Hancock.
One person was air lifted to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is on-going, with information constantly flowing. More updates will be posted when available.
