Malone female arrested stemming from a domestic dispute

On November 22, 2023, State Police members arrested Shaqunna J. Latney, age 33, of Malone, NY for harassment 2nd, attempted assault 2nd, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, criminal mischief 3rd, menacing 2nd and criminal contempt 1st.

On November 20, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Troopers responded to Perrin Road, in the town of Malone for a domestic dispute.  An investigation determined, the victim and Latney were involved in a verbal argument which led to a physical altercation when Latney started breaking items valued up $665.00 and striking the victim multiple times.  During the altercation Latney had a metal mail opener in her hand, threatening the victim and eventually stabbed the victim in the upper arm. The victim was able to get away from Latney, contact law enforcement regarding the incident, and Latney fled the scene prior to law enforcements arrivals.  The victim did sustain minor injuries but did not need medical attention.  

Latney was located, arrested, and processed at SP Malone.  She was arraigned in the Town of Malone Court where she was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail, $2000 bond, or $4000 partially secured bond.  

State Police were assisted by the Franklin County Probation Department.
