Gouverneur male arrested for DWI

press release

On July 4, 2025, members of the New York State Police arrested 48-year-old Wayne C. Bresett from Gouverneur, NY, for driving while intoxicated.

On July 3, 2025, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Troopers noticed a blue 2006 Dodge Dakota violating a vehicle and traffic law while traveling on River Drive in the town of Fowler. They initiated a traffic stop on Main Street and spoke with the driver, who was identified as Bresett. During the conversation, he exhibited signs of impairment. Troopers conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), which Bresett failed.

Bresett was arrested and taken to SP Gouverneur for processing, where he provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .12%.

He was subsequently released on an appearance ticket, scheduled to return to the Town of Fowler Court in August.
