On October 14, 2025, at approximately 1:39 p.m., State Police from the Montgomery barracks responded to a report of found human remains near Sloop Hill Road in the Town of New Windsor.
The remains were discovered during an excavation conducted by Central Hudson as part of a gas line installation project. The Troop F Forensic Identification Unit and the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Montgomery are continuing the investigation.
The investigation is in its early stages. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
