On August 31, 2024, the New York State Police responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Route 343 in the town of Washington near Altamount Road at approximately 12:25 p.m.
Initial investigation determined a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 operated by Blaine M. Hadden, age 18, of Millbrook, NY, westbound on Route 343 entered the eastbound lane and struck a 2004 Toyota Tundra head-on.
Millbrook Fire Department responded to the scene to render aid and extricate the operators. Blain Hadden was transported to Vassar Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
This investigation remains ongoing.
