Erratic Driving Complaint Leads to Arrest on NYS Thruway in Westchester County

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Troopers from SP Tarrytown were dispatched by Troop T communications for multiple reports of a vehicle driving in an erratic manner southbound on the New York State Thruway in the city of Yonkers. Witnesses reported the vehicle was driving all over the road and the operator appeared to be consuming alcohol while driving. 

Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The operator was identified as Gerardo Salguero-Galvez, age 30, of Tenafly, NJ. While Troopers were interviewing the Salguero-Galvez, they observed indicators of intoxication including open alcohol in the vehicle. 

Due to the high level of intoxication, Troopers were unable to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and Salguero-Galvez was placed into custody for DWI. Salguero-Galvez was transported to SP Tarrytown for processing where he recorded a 0.25% BAC, more than triple the legal limit. Salguero Galvez was issued an appearance ticket to return to Yonkers City Court on May 30, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
