Endwell Troopers respond to multi-vehicle crash on 17

On September 18, 2024, at approximately 4:53 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell responded to State Route 17 just east of exit 68 in the town of Union for a crash involving multiple vehicles.

An investigation at the scene revealed that one vehicle was traveling west bound when the operator crashed into the guide rail.

Four other vehicles that were in both the right and left lanes were stopped or slowing down after observing the vehicle that struck the guide rail when a sixth vehicle came from behind and went in between the four stopped vehicles sideswiping each of them.

No injuries were reported.

A detour was put in place and the road was reopened to traffic shortly after 6:00 p.m.
