On Sunday, November 24th, 2024, at approximately 8:00 pm, Troopers responded to the Southern State Parkway Westbound around Exit 31 (Bethpage State Parkway) for reports of a one car rollover. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver, Seamus Maloney age 54 of Massapequa Park, was operating his 2002 Ford when it crossed all three lanes causing it to overturn. Maloney was ejected from his vehicle, and he sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Nassau University Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
The westbound lanes of Southern State Parkway were closed, and traffic was diverted to Southern State Parkway Exit 32 (Rt 110).
This crash is under investigation and the State Police is asking for witnesses or anyone with information to call (631) 756-3300.
