On March 12, 2025, State Police members arrested James E. Bordeau, age 27, of Mooers Forks, NY, for driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood, criminal mischief, and aggravated family offense. 

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 10:39 p.m., Troopers responded to Davison Road in the town of Champlain for a domestic dispute.  As Troopers were arriving, they observed a 2020 Ford Ecosport entering the driveway of the residence.  Troopers observed a male exit the driver's side of the vehicle, when interviewing the male, he was identified as Bordeau, and he was showing signs of impairment.  Troopers administered SFSTs which he failed.  Bordeau was placed under arrest and transported to SP Champlain for processing.

Further investigation determined Bordeau and the victim were involved in a verbal argument which led to physical when Bordeau pushed the victim and then placed his hands around the victim’s neck applying pressure. Bordeau released the victim but took his child who was present in the residence during the altercation and placed the child in his vehicle.  At no time did Bordeau leave the residence with the child, the child was returned to the victim before the Troopers arrived.

Bordeau was arraigned in the Town of Mooers County Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail.
