Domestic incident in the town of Copake leads to arrest

On April 28, 2025, New York State Police in Livingston arrested a Columbia County woman on charges related to domestic abuse.

Troopers, along with the Hudson Police Department and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a residence in the Town of Copake following a report of a domestic dispute involving a knife.

An investigation revealed that Natasha Fielder, 38, and the victim had engaged in a verbal argument earlier in the day. For an unknown reason, Fielder later stabbed the victim in the shoulder with a knife. The victim managed to get away and call for assistance. He was transported to a local medical facility, where he is listed in stable condition.

Fielder was arrested at the scene and charged with the following:

    • Assault in the 2nd degree (Class D felony)
    • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree (Class D felony)

Fielder was arraigned in the Town of Copake Court and released to probation. She is scheduled to reappear on June 23, 2025.
