Cocaine Seized in Clinton After Traffic Stop; Two Men Arrested

Clinton, NY – On May 1, 2025, members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) conducted a traffic stop on a 2022 BMW sedan traveling on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Clinton for violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

During the investigation, the operator, James E. Brown, age 43, of Rensselaer, NY, and front-seat passenger, Jyquez K. Grant, age 23, of Voorheesville, NY, were found to be in possession of approximately 1,176.4 grams of cocaine.

Brown and Grant were arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree (Class A-I felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Class B felony)

Brown and Grant were arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and subsequently remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
