Child Passenger Safety

The holiday season is here, and travel plans are in full swing.  As you embark on road trips with your little ones, prioritizing car seat safety is paramount!

The New York State Police is committed to CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY.  Troop L has a dedicated team of 10 certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians who have checked more than 450 child seats in 2024 to date, making roads safer for families and children year-round.

What to expect when you come see us:

1. We will check to make sure the child is fitted in the correct type of seat.
2. We will check that the child seat is installed correctly.
3. We will check that the child is properly secured in the car seat.
4. We will check the expiration and registration of the car seat.
5. You will have a hands-on experience.
6. We will answer any questions you may have.
