On October 15, 2025, members of the New York State Police arrested 41-year-old Todd L. Johnson from the Bronx, NY, for criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.
At approximately 1:17 p.m. on the same day, Troopers responded to a report of a car in the median on Interstate 87 in the town of Elizabethtown. Upon arrival, they found a black 2011 Hyundai Sonata stuck in the median. Troopers interviewed the driver, identified as Johnson. During the conversation, Johnson provided conflicting stories, and the vehicle's registration did not match his name. Based on their investigation, the Troopers determined that the vehicle was reported stolen.
When the Troopers attempted to arrest Johnson, he resisted and started to pull away, ignoring their commands. Ultimately, the Troopers were able to apprehend him and transport him to SP Schroon Lake for processing. Johnson was later taken to Essex County Jail with a pre-arraignment hold.
