On July 7, 2025, the New York State Police Wappinger Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), in coordination with the Troop K Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, arrested Hamza Maanane, 29, of Poughkeepsie, NY.
The arrest stems from a joint investigation initiated in March 2025 after the receipt of a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The investigation determined that Maanane was in possession of digital images consistent with child sexual exploitation material.
Maanane was charged with sixteen counts of Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child Under the Age of 16, all Class E felonies.
Maanane was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Poughkeepsie Court on July 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m
