Update 1:35 p.m. : State Route 17 is now open.
Original Press Release: On September 26, 2024, at approximately 5:52 a.m., New York State Police at Owego responded to State Route 17 in the town of Owego for a report of a tractor trailer overturned.
The tractor trailer was traveling east when it went into the shoulder and off the roadway into a ditch then overturned. The driver suffered minor injuries.
The eastbound lane remains closed for removal of the fully loaded trailer.
