2016: Just in time for the anniversary! A Uniform Detail of troopers are trained to re-establish The State Police Mounted Detail.
The New York State Police was established solely as a mounted police force until 1918. From this point on, the continuation of the detail would come and go throughout the years.
The reintroduction of the Mounted Detail provides the State Police with additional resources in terms of patrol, crowd control, as well as use at promotional and ceremonial events.
From 2017 to present, members of the detail have made appearances at Centennial Events throughout the state.
