On 09/16/1989, Shirley Klemgard and her brother, Edward Labrie (M444482868) went fishing in a small boat on Lake Ontario. Around 6:00pm, they are believed to have been observed heading in the boat towards Henderson Harbor from Galoo Island. On 09/24/1989, a piece of boat with the following message was recovered on Lake Ontario at Fairhaven Beach, Cayuga County, NY: "SEND HELP SHIRLEY KLEMGARD AND ED LABRIE LOST 7 DAYS ON 16 FT BOAT FIBERGLASS RED & WHITE".
