Troop F - November 23, 2003
Sergeant Jeffry T. Edelson, 34, was killed on November 23, 2003, on State Route 55 in the town of Liberty, Sullivan County, when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Sergeant Edelson was attempting to enforce the Vehicle and Traffic Law, pursuing a speeding vehicle.
Sergeant Edelson was a member of the 178th Academy Basic School Session, graduating on April 27, 1998. After the Academy, except for a temporary assignment in Troop L, he spent the remainder of his six year career in Troop F. His final duty station was SP Liberty.
