Sergeant/Station Commander Jeffrey M. Cicora died on August 10, 2019, from cancer stemming from his assignment to the World Trade Center site, following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Sergeant/SC Cicora entered into disability retirement from the New York State Police after 24 years of service on May 3, 2017, because of his worsening illness.
Following the events of 9/11, Sergeant/SC Cicora was assigned to aid with the search and recovery efforts in New York City, as part of the New York State Police Detail.
Sergeant/SC Cicora is survived by his wife and son.
