Glock 37

2006: After 17 years of service with the Glock 17, the State Police purchased 5,400 new Glock Model 37 pistols. Following the shooting death of Trooper Andrew Sperr, the State Police formed a committee to evaluate the effectiveness of the Glock 17. This committee focused on Glock pistols, primarily due to the similarities in all Glock models, making a transition seamless. After careful review and testing, the committee chose the Glock 37.
