Troop T - May 23, 1983
Zone Sergeant David M. Corbine, 43, died on May 23, 1983. Sergeant Corbine suffered a massive heart attack while driving his Troop car on the New York State Thruway near the city of Syracuse. His vehicle crossed the center mall, both opposing lanes of traffic and came to a stop in an open field.
Sergeant Corbine entered the Division on April 2, 1962 and was a 21 -year veteran. He served in Troop D Oneida, Troop B Ray Brook, Troop A Batavia, and Troop E Canandaigua. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1974, transferred to Troop T, and was promoted to Zone Sergeant in 1978.
