Troop D - April 23, 2006
Trooper Craig J. Todeschini, 25, was killed on April 23, 2006, in a traffic accident.
Trooper Todeschini was pursuing a violator on State Route 91, in the town of Pompey, when he lost control of his troop car and struck a tree.
As a result of this incident, "The Craig J. Todeschini Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer Act" was signed into law by Governor George Pataki in 2006.
Trooper Todeschini was a three-year veteran of the State Police and was assigned to SP Lafayette at the time of his death.
