A Memorial Day Message to Holiday Travelers: Click It or Ticket!
The 16th wave of New York's "Buckle Up New York/Click It or Ticket" mobilizations is set for May 23 - June 5, 2005.
Troopers, deputies and local police will staff checkpoints throughout the state, looking for improperly belted occupants.
New York State's safety restraint laws:

All front seat occupants, regardless of age, must be restrained.

All back seat occupants up to the age of 16 must be restrained.

Children up to age 4 must be secured in a federally approved child seat.

Children less than 4, but weighing more than 40 pounds, may be secured in a booster seat with a lap/shoulder safety belt.

Children ages 4, 5, and 6 must be secured in an appropriate child restraint system, one for which your child meets the child seat manufacturer's height and weight guidelines.
