|Duties & Responsibilities:||Submit and track all warranties filed to Aviation vendors and Airframe manufacturers for aircraft parts, monitoring warranty compliance. These warranties are maintained in accordance with manufacturer and vendor guidelines.
Perform, control, reconcile and evaluate all inventory levels of the New York State Police Aviation Unit. Maintain all inventories stored in an appropriate parts room or locker in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Order, purchase and secure parts from airframe manufacturers and/or vendors approved by the Federal Aviation Administration., maintaining security of parts and storage areas.
Perform and control the shipping and receiving of all goods and services to and from the Aviation Unit, maintaining computerized records and reconciling them to the physical inventory.
Prepare estimates of annual parts requirements; maintain a perpetual inventory of parts and supplies; monitor and control conformance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations regarding physical inventories and equipment calibration dates; resolve questions on accounts receivable; maintain the security of parts storage areas; prepare and assist in the direction of the purchase of orders and requisitions.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||Three years of experience with responsibility for procurement, issuance, stocking and inventory control of aviation parts and equipment or variety of automotive, industrial, military equipment and parts using computer software to control the parts and equipment inventory operation.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
Definitive aviation parts management experience specifically related to FAA compliance, inventory control, ordering/purchasing and warranty tracking systems.
User level experience (or higher) with SFS and/or similar computer based financial control programs and ability to learn various computer based programs.
Demonstrated organizational ability in a dynamic setting.
|Additional Comments:||This position does not require that the candidate have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination, or currently hold a qualifying position within the NYS Civil Service System. This position will be filled through a resume review and interview process.|
