|Duties & Responsibilities:||Conduct financial portion of suitability assessment background investigations on persons and corporations for gaming licensing.
Conduct other investigative functions as directed involving the tracing of financial transactions and financial audits. Based on the specifics of the investigations, advise investigative staff what books, records and documents would be needed to establish case specific elements.
Travel as necessary to gaming facilities and applicant locations within and outside New York State.
Assist the Associate Budgeting Analyst in the supervision of the financial operations of the Detail, including but not limited to, the following:
Preparation of the Detail budget including Personal Service and Non-Personal Service Schedules.
Preparation of the following Detail reports: Monthly Cash Disbursement, Monthly Fiscal Plan, Special Billing for Reimbursements, etc.
Analyze reports from the State Comptroller for appropriateness and verifications of account charges.
Verify that purchase orders, contracts and vouchers are charged to the proper accounts.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||Bachelor's Degree.
One (1) year satisfactory completion of permanent service in a title allocated to SG-14 or higher with Finance, Purchasing or Accounting responsibilities.
An Associate's Degree AND two (2) years experience relating to the subject position or at least two (2) years of post-secondary education AND two (2) years experience relating to the subject position.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree with at least 24 credit hours in accounting and/or auditing or appropriate professional credentials such as Certified Public accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Frauds Examiner (CFE).
