|Duties & Responsibilities:||Receive, process and document items submitted and secure items in designated area.
Correctly document the dispersal and return of items for analysis.
Properly apply techniques to ensure the integrity of items submitted.
Operate equipment in accordance with established protocols and quality control procedures.
Maintain an accurate chain-of-custody.
Account for all items and conduct audits to determine compliance with standards and protocols.
Provide information on the proper submission protocols and procedures.
Provide testimony in court proceedings.
Relay submitted items to other facilities.
Provide coverage at other Division facilities, as needed.
Perform other related duties as directed by a supervisor.
|Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:||Completion of 60 credit hours of college coursework, with at least 18 credit hours in biology, chemistry, health science, physics or science technology.
Two years experience performing tasks and procedures in a laboratory or clinical setting.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
|Additional Comments:||Starting Salary: $31,547.00
This position does not require that the candidate have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination, or currently hold a qualifying position within the NYS Civil Service System. Resumes will be evaluated to determine whether candidates will proceed to the interview phase of the process.
