Inter- and Intra-agency Training

The Crime Laboratory System conducts training seminars for NYSP employees and hundreds of forensic personnel from city, county, state and federal agencies and laboratories throughout the northeast and mid-Atlantic states.

In addition to economical cost-effective training, these programs promote interagency cooperation, develop operating procedures and update training curricula.

The following are examples of seminars, training courses and meetings provided:

Forensic scientists and senior laboratory technicians participate in many training programs throughout the year. This training helps laboratory staff keep current with ever-changing technologies in the field of forensic analysis, and fulfills an accreditation requirement for all scientists to complete eight hours of training in their field annually.
